ULP STRIKE AUTHORIZATION VOTE OVERWHELMINGLY PASSES
June 14, 2024 – Over the past week, UFCW members working at Southern California Foods Co. and Food 4 Less locations have made their voices heard by overwhelmingly voting to authorize a strike if needed. The message is loud and clear: If the company continues to commit unfair labor practices (ULP’s), we will take action.
Our members have shown incredible strength during negotiations, and we’ve sent a strong message to Food 4 Less / Foods Co: You have earned and deserve better.
We expect the company to come to the table prepared to bargain in good faith. This ULP strike authorization vote helps prepare us to take action if the company continues to commit unfair labor practices. We’ve got the law, customers, and, most importantly, the members on our side. We are united and determined to stand up for your rights!
A strike is always a last resort. If necessary, a representative from the Union will notify members if a decision is made to strike. There will be opportunities to attend member meetings, calls, or trainings about taking action together.
AGAIN: DO NOT WALK OUT UNTIL YOU ARE NOTIFIED BY THE UNION. Walking out before could cause you to be disciplined and/or fired by your employer.
We are set to meet with Food 4 Less / Foods Co. again next week, on June 17th, where we will discuss the company’s latest offer. The message is clear: members deserve a fair contract, now.

EL VOTO DE AUTORIZACIÓN DE HUELGA DE ULP SE APRUEBA POR ABRUMADORA MAYORÍA
14 de junio de 2024 – Durante la semana pasada, los miembros de la UFCW que trabajan en los establecimientos de Southern California Foods Co. y Food 4 Less han hecho oír su voz votando abrumadoramente a favor de autorizar una huelga en caso necesario. El mensaje es alto y claro: Si la compañía continúa cometiendo prácticas laborales injustas (ULP’s), tomaremos acción.
Nuestros miembros han demostrado una fuerza increíble durante las negociaciones, y hemos enviado un fuerte mensaje a Food 4 Less / Foods Co: Te has ganado y mereces algo mejor.
Esperamos que la empresa venga a la mesa dispuesta a negociar de buena fe. Este voto de autorización de huelga ULP nos ayuda a prepararnos para tomar medidas si la empresa sigue cometiendo prácticas laborales injustas. Tenemos a la ley, a los clientes y, lo que es más importante, a los afiliados de nuestro lado. Estamos unidos y decididos a defender tus derechos.
La huelga es siempre el último recurso. En caso necesario, un representante del sindicato notificará a los afiliados si se toma la decisión de ir a la huelga. Habrá oportunidades para asistir a reuniones de afiliados, convocatorias o formaciones sobre cómo actuar juntos.
DE NUEVO: NO TE VAYAS HASTA QUE EL SINDICATO TE LO NOTIFIQUE. Si se retira antes, su empleador podría sancionarle o despedirle.
Estamos listos para reunirnos con Food 4 Less / Foods Co. de nuevo la próxima semana, el 17 de junio, donde discutiremos la última oferta de la compañía. El mensaje es claro: los miembros merecen un contrato justo, ahora.
