June 8, 2024 – Southern California Foods Co. Update – Strike Meetings Scheduled

For months, we have been telling Food 4 Less / Foods Co. we want a fair deal by the expiration of our contract. The company decided, rather than negotiate a fair offer providing workers the hours and wages they need, the company wants to eliminate jobs.

Our contract with Food 4 Less / Foods Co. expired without a tentative agreement because the company refused to deliver you an acceptable offer. We’ve been at the table trying to reach a deal, and the company has been breaking the law by committing unfair labor practices.

This is why we’re holding strike authorization votes this week. It is time to stand up and make our voices heard by casting our votes and telling the company to stop breaking the law.

Members from all seven Locals will have a chance to cast their votes. Keep an eye out for voting dates and times which will be posted in stores. District Union Representatives, as well as details of the company’s proposal, will be available at the voting location. 

Even though our contract has expired, our working conditions will stay the same. Continue reporting to work as usual while we fight for a fair contract and stand up against the company’s illegal actions.

We are more united than we’ve ever been, and it’s time to show our company we deserve to be taken seriously.

Durante meses, hemos estado diciendo a Food 4 Less / Foods Co. que queremos un trato justo al vencimiento de nuestro contrato. La empresa decidió, en lugar de negociar una oferta justa que proporciona a los trabajadores las horas y los salarios que necesitan, la empresa quiere eliminar puestos de trabajo.

Nuestro contrato con Food 4 Less / Foods Co. expiró sin un acuerdo tentativo porque la empresa se negó a entregarle una oferta aceptable. Hemos estado en la mesa tratando de llegar a un acuerdo, y la empresa ha estado violando la ley al cometer prácticas laborales injustas.

Por eso vamos a celebrar votaciones de autorización de huelga esta semana. Es hora de levantarnos y hacer oír nuestra voz votando y diciéndole a la empresa que deje de incumplir la ley.

Los miembros de los siete sindicatos locales tendrán la oportunidad de emitir su voto. Estén atentos a las fechas y horas de votación que se publicarán en las tiendas. Los representantes sindicales de distrito, así como los detalles de la propuesta de la empresa, estarán disponibles en el lugar de votación.

Aunque nuestro contrato ha expirado, nuestras condiciones de trabajo seguirán siendo las mismas. Sigue presentándote a trabajar como siempre mientras luchamos por un contrato justo y nos oponemos a las acciones ilegales de la empresa.

Estamos más unidos que nunca y es hora de demostrar a la empresa que merecemos que nos tome en serio.
