We met with Foods Co. / Food 4 Less this week as a strong, united force which is ready to get you the contract you deserve. It’s still very early in the bargaining process, but we have exchanged proposals with the company. Our proposals include higher wages, equity with other Union grocery stores, and better staffing.
The company’s proposals were unacceptable, and we know you will not accept a contract offering anything less than what you deserve.
Our priorities are explicit. Your jobs have changed since we negotiated our last contract. The pandemic, record-breaking inflation, and skyrocketing prices have made it harder to put food on our families’ tables. You do more work with less staffing, yet many still struggle to get the hours they need. You deserve a strong contract!
We will meet with the company again in a couple of weeks, and we expect the company to come to the table with serious proposals which value your work and contribution to the company.
The contract is set to expire on June 8th; however, it doesn’t mean wages, benefits, or work protections end. If Foods Co. / Food 4 Less fails to make an offer which rewards your hard work and sacrifice, we, as a united group of members and locals in Southern California, will decide what actions will be taken to win the contract you deserve. A strong contract is possible, but we must remain united, stay strong, and be engaged.
Together, we have the power to show we are serious about our proposals, and we’re ready to stand together to get a strong contract.

Actualización de Negociación
Nos reunimos con Foods Co. / Food 4 Less esta semana como una fuerza fuerte y unida que está dispuesta a conseguiros el contrato que os merecéis. Todavía es muy temprano en el proceso de negociación, pero hemos intercambiado propuestas con la empresa. Nuestras propuestas incluyen salarios más altos, la igualdad con otras tiendas de comestibles de la Unión, y una mejor dotación de personal.
Las propuestas de la empresa eran inaceptables, y sabemos que no aceptaréis un contrato que ofrezca menos de lo que merecéis.
Nuestras prioridades son explícitas. Vuestros puestos de trabajo han cambiado desde que negociamos el último convenio. La pandemia, una inflación sin precedentes y unos precios por las nubes han hecho más difícil llevar comida a la mesa de nuestras familias. Hacéis más trabajo con menos personal, pero muchos seguís luchando por conseguir las horas que necesitáis. Os merecéis un convenio fuerte.
Nos reuniremos de nuevo con la empresa dentro de un par de semanas y esperamos que la empresa presente propuestas serias que valoren vuestro trabajo y vuestra contribución a la empresa.
El contrato expira el 8 de junio, pero eso no significa que se acaben los salarios, las prestaciones o las protecciones laborales. Si Foods Co. / Food 4 Less no hace una oferta que recompense vuestro duro trabajo y sacrificio, nosotros, como grupo unido de miembros y locales en el Sur de California, decidiremos qué acciones tomaremos para conseguir el contrato que os merecéis. Un contrato fuerte es posible, pero debemos permanecer unidos, ser fuertes y comprometernos.
Juntos, tenemos el poder de demostrar que nuestras propuestas son serias, y estamos dispuestos a permanecer unidos para conseguir un contrato fuerte.
