UFCW 8-Golden State and Foods Co. have signed an agreement to extend the terms of the current labor agreement in Northern California. The contract extension will continue on a day-to-day basis, and either side will be able to cancel the extension with 72-hours’ written notice.
This means Union members’ wage standards, benefits and workplace rules are protected through this stage of the negotiations.
“Members remain determined to reach an agreement which rewards their commitment for working throughout this pandemic. They are heroes on the front lines, ensuring day after day their communities have food on the table,” President Loveall said, “And should continue to be recognized as such.”
