Tentative Agreement Reached with Raley’s, Bel Air, and Nob Hill Foods

ROSEVILLE, CA (June 27, 2022) — UFCW 8-Golden State, along with UFCW Local 5 in the Bay Area, is pleased to report we have reached a new tentative contract agreement covering Raley’s throughout Northern California. The deal includes Bel Air and Nob Hill Foods locations in Local 8’s jurisdiction.

The new agreement provides medical and pension improvements with no medical premiums for active member coverage – a rarity in the industry – along with the creation of a new Lifetime Income Security Accrual Account (LISA) retirement plan for current and future members. The new LISA retirement plan is in addition to existing members’ pension benefits.

The agreement also features historic ratification bonuses and wage increases, “which recognize the tireless commitment our members have shown as they provided continuous service to their community throughout the pandemic,” said UFCW 8-Golden State President Jacques Loveall.

“We have bargained the largest combined wage increases ever seen in the Northern California retail industry, and this rising tide will lift all boats,” said President Loveall. “These increases will reverberate through the industry, as other employers are forced to step up their wages, medical and retirement compensation or risk losing their valued and skilled workers.”

The 7,000 affected Union members from both UFCW locals will have an opportunity to review the details of the agreement before ratification in the coming weeks. The Unions and the company have agreed not to release the complete details of the tentative agreement until members have had the opportunity to review and ratify the new contract.

Working together, we continue to prove, again and again, Solidarity Works!
