Raley’s, Bel Air and Nob Hill Foods Negotiations Update – May 26, 2022

This past week, UFCW 8-Golden State, along with UFCW Local 5, had meetings with Raley’s to continue working towards reaching an agreement which we could recommend to our respective members.

We made progress in a few areas, notably medical and pension benefits. However, the company’s wage proposal is inadequate.

“Our members have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic. Their work and sacrifice have earned the company a windfall in sales and profits, enabling Raley’s to open new stores and continue their growth into other markets,” said Jacques Loveall, President of UFCW 8-Golden State.

Raley’s recently reiterated its “commitment to team members.” However, this has not been demonstrated in its proposals.

“Workers at Raley’s, Bel Air and Nob Hill deserve nothing less than their sisters and brothers at neighboring Union supermarkets,” said President Loveall.

Further progress is necessary to reach an agreement which recognizes the commitment our members have made to the community and their company.
