We met with Stater Bros. and the company had no answers to our questions about their plans to eliminate courtesy clerks. They stated they were “still learning” what to do. However, a new video released by the company yesterday indicates they are freezing the hiring of courtesy clerks and relying on high turnover to eliminate the classification.
In the video, the company makes statements regarding the company’s proposals which don’t match what the company has proposed in bargaining.
The company’s top priorities are rising inflation and costs to consumers, yet they fail to recognize their workers are also consumers, and we keep stores running smoothly to meet the needs of their customers.
We will meet with the company again this Friday, where we will continue to push the company for answers and follow up with a full bargaining update. In the meantime, continue to wear your Union buttons! This act of solidarity shows Stater Bros. we are united and standing together for the contract we deserve.

Nos reunimos con Stater Bros. y la empresa no respondió a nuestras preguntas sobre sus planes para eliminar a los dependientes de cortesía. Afirmaron que «todavía están aprendiendo» qué hacer. Sin embargo, un nuevo vídeo publicado ayer por la empresa indica que están congelando la contratación de dependientes de cortesía y confiando en una alta rotación para eliminar la clasificación.
En el vídeo, la empresa hace declaraciones sobre las propuestas de la empresa que no coinciden con lo que la empresa ha propuesto en la negociación.
Las principales prioridades de la empresa son el aumento de la inflación y los costes para los consumidores, pero no reconocen que sus trabajadores también son consumidores, y nosotros mantenemos las tiendas en funcionamiento para satisfacer las necesidades de sus clientes.
Nos reuniremos con la empresa de nuevo este viernes, donde seguiremos presionando a la empresa para que dé respuestas y haremos un seguimiento con una actualización completa de la negociación. Mientras tanto, ¡seguid llevando vuestros botones del sindicato! Este acto de solidaridad demuestra a Stater Bros. que estamos unidos y que luchamos juntos por el contrato que nos merecemos.
