Company Wage Proposal Inadequate
September 25, 2024 — Negotiations continued with Save Mart/Lucky’s this week as we resume coordinated bargaining with UFCW Locals 5 and 648, who also represent thousands of members in the Bay Area and Northern California. The company’s wage proposal falls far short of what our members deserve.
The company continues to propose part-time meat cutters, reducing full-time positions and hours worked by members, while increasing outside vendors and work done by non-union personnel. Their offer does not reflect the contributions made by our members to the company’s success.
We are committed to securing a contract which provides fair wage increases and the health benefits our members need to support their families while also ensuring safe staffing levels and store safety. Our hard-working members deserve a contract respecting the effort they put in every day. It’s time for Save Mart/Lucky’s to offer fair wages, proper staffing, and a safe working environment.
The Save Mart/Lucky contract expires on October 7, 2024. Now is the time for all of us to stand together in solidarity. Let’s work to improve our working conditions, strengthen our stores, and elevate standards in our communities.
Together, we will prove once again Solidarity Works!
