Negotiations with Perfect Union have continued since the contract expiration in September but remain at a frustrating standstill. It’s deeply disappointing to witness the company’s refusal to acknowledge the indispensable role of its workers in maintaining their operations.
Despite workers’ relentless dedication and value, Perfect Union has offered an insulting 10-cent wage increase—an amount which utterly fails to reflect members’ contributions or the growing demands of their roles. The company’s regressive proposals would also significantly harm workers’ rights and protections, including:
- Reduction in Union Job Protections: Threatening the security and stability of members’ careers.
- Subcontracting Out Work: Undermining Union jobs and opening the door for less workers and lower standards.
- Restrictions on Worksite Access: Limiting the ability of the Union to ensure contract compliance and monitor safety protocols at job locations.
These proposals not only devalue the hard work and sacrifices of employees but also demonstrate a blatant disregard for the operational success which our members make possible. Our Union’s priorities are clear: meaningful wage increases, fortified retirement security, robust medical coverage, and the preservation of strong worker protections. We demand a contract which honors the contributions of workers who have been the backbone of this company’s success.
