Tentative Agreements Reached in Northern California with Save Mart/Lucky and FoodMaxx

ROSEVILLE, CA (Friday, January 13, 2017) — After lengthy and complex negotiations, UFCW 8-Golden State has reached tentative agreements for members working at both Save Mart/Lucky and FoodMaxx in Northern California.

The new agreements provide significant wages increases for both FoodMaxx and Save Mart/Lucky members. FoodMaxx members will also be covered under a new healthcare plan which will be jointly administered by the Union and employer after ratification.

Additionally, our Save Mart and Food Maxx members will now share a common contract expiration date as of October, 2018.

“These new agreements continue to provide our members with some of the best wages and the finest health care and pension benefits in the grocery industry,” said Jacques Loveall, president of UFCW 8-Golden State, “Together, we proved once again, Solidarity Works!”

Both sides have agreed not to release the details of the tentative agreement until Union members have had the opportunity to review and ratify it. Members will receive mail ballots and materials explaining the details of the tentative agreement in the next few weeks.
