Bargaining with Raley’s is scheduled to resume next week. We are determined to reach an agreement that not only meets the needs of our members but also preserves standards in the retail grocery industry.
Local 5 has recently reached a tentative agreement solely covering their Nob Hill members. Local 5’s tentative agreement doesn’t address the future funding of medical and pension benefits covered under the collective bargaining agreement and instead relies on our continued negotiations with Raley’s and Safeway to address those provisions of the contract. Further meetings with Safeway have also been planned.
Local 5’s Nob Hill agreement also has contractual changes that are not necessarily appropriate to our Raley’s, Bel Air and Nob Hill membership.
Your Union is committed to achieving the best possible agreement covering all aspects of your contract. In doing so we need you, the members, to continue doing your part by being vocal in your support of your Union.
Your solidarity, now more than ever, is a critical component to negotiating a good contract.
We will keep you informed as negotiations progress. If you have questions about anything, ask your District Union Representative. Until then, remain united in solidarity and together we will prove …
Solidarity Works!
