Bargaining with Albertsons and Kroger and all UFCW Locals in Southern California resumed this week, and once again, the companies failed to make meaningful progress toward a fair contract.
In our early negotiations, in February, we presented comprehensive proposals focused on achieving wage improvements, securing affordable healthcare, protecting your retirement, and improving working conditions. Despite months of waiting on the companies, they have yet to respond fully.
We finally received a response yesterday regarding staffing issues, but their counterproposal was vague and insufficient. It does little to address the ongoing staffing crisis in our stores, which is felt by workers and customers alike.
Our next bargaining sessions are scheduled for May 29 and 30. Stay united and stand strong as we continue pressing the companies to come to the table ready to make real commitments to the hardworking members who keep these stores running.

Las negociaciones con Albertsons y Kroger y todos los sindicatos locales de UFCW en el sur de California se reanudaron esta semana y, una vez más, las empresas no lograron avances significativos hacia un contrato justo.
En nuestras primeras negociaciones, en febrero, presentamos propuestas integrales centradas en lograr mejoras salariales, garantizar una asistencia sanitaria asequible, proteger vuestra jubilación y mejorar las condiciones laborales. A pesar de meses de espera, las empresas aún no han respondido de forma completa.
Ayer, por fin, recibimos una respuesta sobre las cuestiones de personal, pero su contrapropuesta era vaga e insuficiente. No contribuye en nada a resolver la crisis de personal que sufren nuestras tiendas, que afecta tanto a los trabajadores como a los clientes.
Las próximas sesiones de negociación están previstas para los días 29 y 30 de mayo. Manténganse unidos y firmes mientras seguimos presionando a las empresas para que se sienten a la mesa dispuestas a asumir compromisos reales con los miembros que trabajan duro para que estas tiendas sigan funcionando.
