Southern Calif. Pharmacist Negotiations Continue – August 2026

For the first time since members overwhelmingly authorized an Unfair Labor Practice strike, we met with Albertsons/Vons and Ralphs for two full days of intense negotiations. Our strong vote and continued outreach to patients and community partners have built real momentum.

Patients are also making their voices heard. They have expressed frustration with inadequate pharmacy staffing and strong support for the pharmacists and Union members who care for them. In a recent survey, 80% of customers said they would transfer their prescriptions to another Union pharmacy if the companies continue unfair labor practices preventing us from reaching the contract we and our patients deserve.

Our customers, community partners, supporters and Union siblings across other locals continue standing with us, including helping prepare picket signs in support of our fight. The companies have also begun training temporary pharmacists in preparation for a potential labor dispute. If you are asked to train another pharmacist, know your rights and contact your District Union Representative immediately.

Bargaining resumes August 31 and September 1. Until then, stay united, informed and engaged. District Union Representatives will continue visiting stores to discuss next steps and hear directly from members.

If you have questions about bargaining, the ULP strike authorization or your rights, please contact your District Union Representative in the Bakersfield office.

Together, we will continue standing strong for the respect, staffing and contract we deserve.

Solidarity Works!
