Roseville, Calif. – UFCW 8-Golden State members at Adventist Health Mendocino Coast have voted to ratify a strong new contract, securing significant gains and long-term stability for members and their families. “We secured meaningful improvements, including the largest wage increase at the hospital while also protecting the members’ priorities,” said Jacques Loveall, UFCW 8-Golden State President.
The ratified contract provides significant wage increases across the board each year, representing the largest wage increase at the hospital, and extends contract coverage through June 2029, offering stability during an unprecedented time for rural healthcare facilities.
Additional improvements include an optional high-deductible health plan with lower premiums, giving members another choice to manage healthcare costs. The contract also strengthens higher classification pay for Step-Up and Relief work and eliminates the 8/80 work schedule, creating greater opportunities for overtime pay.
Throughout bargaining, we were united against proposals which would have dramatically increased healthcare premiums, reduced protections for on-call workers, limited seniority rights in vacation selection, and offered substandard wages.
The newly ratified contract is a testament to what we can accomplish when we are united. Together we prove Solidarity Works!
