Adventist Health Mendocino County and UFCW 8-Golden State Reach a Tentative Agreement

January 29, 2026, Roseville, Calif. – UFCW 8-Golden State has reached a tentative agreement covering members working at Adventist Health in Mendocino County. This tentative agreement reflects the unity, persistence, and strength our members brought to every stage of bargaining.

“This tentative agreement reflects our members’ commitment to winning real improvements at the bargaining table,” said Jacques Loveall, UFCW 8-Golden State President. “By standing together, we secured the largest wage increase at the hospital and protected key priorities for members and their families.”

Highlights of the Tentative Agreement include:

  • 5% wage increases across the board, each year — representing the largest wage increase at the hospital
  • Contract coverage through June 2029, providing stability and security during an unprecedented period for rural hospitals
  • New high-deductible health plan option with lower premiums, giving members an additional choice to help manage health care costs
  • Improvements for Step-Up/Relief work in higher classification pay
  • Elimination of the 8/80 work schedule, creating greater opportunities for overtime pay

Because members stayed engaged and united, we defeated employer proposals which would have weakened our contract, including:

  • Drastic increases to health care premiums — three to five times current rates — which would have made coverage unaffordable
  • Reduced protections for on-call workers
  • Reduced ability to use seniority for vacation selection
  • Substandard wage offer

Members will have an opportunity to review complete details of the agreement and have time to ask questions and get accurate information prior to voting. Meeting details will be shared directly with members as soon as possible.

Together, we prove again and again — Solidarity Works!
