UFCW 8 - Butte County Update - Nov 15, 2018

In support of those affected by the Camp Fire in Butte County, UFCW 8-Golden State has pledged to match up to $50,000 towards the Disaster Relief Fund. We have over 70 active members who have been either reported by Cal Fire, their employer or the member that they have lost their home.

All members at Save Mart have been accounted for. Safeway is still in the process of accounting for all employees, at last report 5 employees were still unaccounted for.

According to reports released Wednesday evening, the Camp Fire has burned 138,000 acres and is 35 percent contained. There have been 56 confirmed fatalities and over 10,000 structures destroyed.

“I’d like to thank those who have stepped forward to help our members,” said UFCW 8-Golden State President Jacques Loveall. “We are family and we’ll stand by them, helping lift one another up, during this unprecedented challenge to so many families.”
